About Me

My name is Iris Mount, and I am currently a senior at Vienna High School. Before my junior year, my family moved from Fort Collins, Colorado to Southern Illinois, transitioning from a busy city to a small town. This move sparked my interest in how local businesses operate, especially centered around small farming communities, such as the one I am blessed to be a part of. I’ve observed how these companies are greatly changing and impacting the county, inspiring me to pursue a deeper knowledge of business.

I am particularly eager to gain hands-on experience as a CEO and expand my understanding of businesses in and around my town. Before moving, I started my own lawn and pet care business to serve my neighbors, which gave me an early taste of entrepreneurship. This experience, combined with my curiosity about business management and its role in community development, drives me to learn more. I look forward to applying the skills and insights from this class to potentially grow my own ventures or contribute to the local economy in the future.
