Business Visit: Britton's Wrecker Service Inc.

This morning we had the pleasure of visiting Brent, owner of Britton’s Wrecker Service. Brent shared his journey from operating a trucking company to expanding into the wrecker service industry. He purchased his first location in Mounds in 2009, added the Vienna location in 2013, and has since expanded with an additional site in Metropolis. Today, their team serves a 175-mile radius from each location—and occasionally hauls vehicles and semis across multiple states.

Britton’s Wrecker Service operates 24/7, 365 days a year. Brent explained that emergencies don’t take holidays, so their structured schedule ensures dependable coverage while still allowing employees time off.

Students also had the chance to see some of the technology the company uses, including digital tools that reduce paperwork, speed up response times, and record video inside and outside the truck to promote safety for both employees and customers.

Brent closed by offering thoughtful advice for aspiring entrepreneurs: understand not just the startup costs but the ongoing operating expenses, and plan for the time it may take before revenue begins to flow. He emphasized the importance of starting small and growing steadily as your resources allow.
