Business Visit: Jacobsen & Associates LLC and Vienna Town Square Mall.
Yesterday (11/13/25) we had the opportunity to learn from Jennifer Jacobsen, who shared her family’s unexpected journey into property ownership. What started as a simple desire to preserve the view from their home turned into purchasing their first rental—and eventually expanding into 16 rental properties. She explained that although they never planned to become landlords, opportunities continued to arise, and they chose to grow with them.
Jennifer also shared a valuable cost-saving strategy: Lowell enrolled in the HVACR certification program at Shawnee Community College. Over two years, he earned his certification, allowing him to handle their HVAC maintenance in-house. The small cost of the classes compared to outsourcing the work now saves them thousands of dollars annually.
We also learned about the Junque Jamboree, the vendor event Jennifer hosts twice a year on the Vienna Square, providing a fun and creative way to bring the community together.
To wrap up our visit, Jennifer gave us a tour of the mall and explained the innovative ways she sources inventory and builds multiple streams of income for her business.
A huge thank-you to Jennifer for sharing her insight, experience, and entrepreneurial wisdom with our class!
